There is no emotion other than fear, which has such a lasting impact on our minds. We are not able to come out of it. We just cannot help it. Horror films are one genre of movies that invoke negative emotions in the viewers by manipulating their most imaginative fears. They create such an aura of fright and dreadfulness that we become friends with sleepless nights and eerie feelings for many days to come.  Scream (1996) was the first horror movie I ever saw. It was directed by Wes Craven; and, it starred my favorite heroine at that time, Drew Barrymore.

It was one fine evening that my friend and I decided to watch Scream. I was at my friend’s house for a slumber party. We fetched some popcorn after dinner and seated ourselves in front of the television. Back then, we used video cassette players since DVD players had not been invented. My friend inserted a video cassette inside the player, and the movie began on the television screen. The story was about a pair of psychic friends who killed young nubile girls for fun’s sake. Casey was a young girl alone in the house.

She received a call which she thought of as a prank call. She flirted a little when the caller had already sneaked into her house. Wearing a white mask, the killer chased her, and then stabbed her to death when her parents were just entering the house.
