Following my secondary education completion I worked between 28th January, 2008 and 28th December, 2008 in the call centre department of HSBC Bank based in Riyadh, which is Saudi Arabia’s capital city and afterward I decided to further my education in human resources, which is the career of my choice. I had to pass the IELTS exam so as to enroll to the foundation course that I took between 23rd September 2010 and 15th June, 2011, which enabled me to have the offer of HR course. For this reason, I joined on 23rd September, 2011 Cardiff metropolitan university based in Cardiff city where I did my foundation for more than two years given that am at the moment in the final year which I will i will finish on 14th June this year. After my current course I plan to pursue my postgraduate degree in HR in Keele University and am looking forward to work in Saudi embassy in London since I had an offer from them last summer. I have the ability to learn from other given that society expects us to continue learning even when we are adults, but more professionally For instance, it is measured fairly up to standard to continue as adults in learning novel skills as well as achieving prerequisites for furthering our professionalism, but based on developing our emotion life, society makes us believe that emotional development is a personal development and so must be handled quietly and privately (Odro et al., 2012, p.7). Sill, viewing life from such perspective would make us never to have a chance of maturing appropriately or having positive changes in our lives. Undeniably, life is based on evolving by means of transition and learning; thus, we must perform personal development publicly and devoid of panic of mockery for the whole period of our existence. As a result, personal/emotional development should not be seen as weakness point. Every person has a right to learn how to individuals (Teare et al., 2011, p.62). Goal S.M.A.R.T. Goal I will improve my professional skills in decision making and time management So as to ensure my professional skills in decision making and time management is well enhanced, I will incorporate various learning styles like Social (interpersonal) and Solitary (intrapersonal) in order to develop skills such as communication, interpersonal, organizations, IT, and research skills , which i need to achieve before the end of January 2014. Sixty percent of my fellow school mates have to exhibit some of the outlined skills before march 2014. The examination below exhibits how the modified goal meets the decisive factor of S.M.A.R.T. goal. S.M.A.R.T. Analysis S Is the goal specific and strategic? Yes. The goal only concentrates on “professional skills in decision making and time management” and includes the inclusion of “fulfilling aspirations and taking efforts to control my anger.” M Is it measurable? Yes. The goal demands “60 percent” of students to exhibit know-how by learning more skills. A Is it action-oriented? Yes. The goal makes use of action words like “incorporate, ensure and exhibit.” R Does it have the 3 R’s? Yes. The goal sets far above the ground but within reach anticipated results for students. T Is it timed? Yes. The goal will be met “by the end of May 2014.” Part B Professional development is, obviously, a continuing, permanent development, but it is probable to recognize numerous significant outcomes for personal development planning against personal work objectives. Unlike personal work objectives, PDP allows a person to enquire into his/her individual competency and analyzing personal effectiveness and capabilities. In addition, through PDP a person can manage his own learning as revealed by: selecting as well as searching out suitable learning resources (Clegg & Bufton, 2008, p.439). PDP also allows utilization of every accessible technical support and allows use of suitable and helpful study skills, which enables limitations identifications of present personal capabilities. What’s more, PDP facilitates selection of learning strategies that considers preferences in personal learning and that are probable to succeed setting up tough personal learning objectives as a foundation for personal development (Sheppard, 2006, p.132). Unlike personal work objectives, which recognize the anxieties of a challenging professional life, PDP improves the welfare and associations amongst individuals and the desire to support a sense of balance amid professional, personal activities and goals. PDP can be used to advice in nerve-racking situations, since it has the ability to identify circumstances that can lead to stress (Hallam, 2010, p.271). Some of the processes and activities needed to implement my professional development plan (PDP) include recognizing and communicating my preferences, goals, and desires with regard to development activities (Beausaert et al., 2011, p.251). In addition, I will have to work with other students and important individuals to recognize various development activities, which can meet my preferences, goals and desires. I will also have to offer certain information on my various development activities to facilitate achievement of end-skill level. I must work in manners that support dynamic involvements to choose important development activities, which have the ability to meet my personal’s preferences, goals, and desires (Beausaert et al., 2013, p.147). What’s more, I need to find out the needed resources to put into practice my PDP, needed resources, and search for resourceful resolutions as well as supplementary support to deal with any resources gap where needed. To achieve intermediate milestones, I will have to make clear my responsibilities and roles as well as those of others involved in the implementation of my personal development plan. This will be achieved by completing reports and records pertaining to decisions and actions, in privacy accords and in line with work and legal environment requirements (Mittendorff et al., 2008, p.79). I will also have to concur with the entity, tutors and other involved parties how my PDP will be implemented and how to set up the setting for implementation. Part C It is appropriate for one to take time to examine career opportunities inside his/her organization. As a result, he/she can find out opportunities that completely go with his/her skills or interests, discover about job openings as well as endorsements prior to anyone else, and recognize means of improving his/her skills as well as expertise. Personally, to discover career opportunities that I can easily develop I usually ensure I have the right state of mind, look for opportunities, recognize my strengths and weaknesses, narrow my options, then .get ready, and get going. Personal and professional Development Plan What are the steps or strategies I will take? What is the realistic timeframe to accomplish the step or strategy? How will I evaluate each step or strategy? How will I know the step or strategy has been accomplished? Participating in a public workshop, to enhance my professional skills in decision making Finish the workshop within four months. Subsequent to the workshop, I will examine my skills in the basics of team work. After completing the course. Read no less than two books based on how to improve personal and professional skills. By January 21st 2014 When i finish reading the two books, I will assess my understanding on more sophisticated decision-making techniques. The selected two books will have been useful and supportive in making me understand on more complex decision making skills. I will join local business group to improve my lately obtained decision making and personal skills. Join in the coming two months; partake in monthly meetings for no less than four months. I will gauge my advancement by asking for feedback from other partakers; enroll for official recognition. Through recurrent training, the level of my skill must get better. Also i will be good in making personal and professional decision. Look for novel opportunities to practice my newly acquired skills in a team setting. Without delay. Gauge my advancement by asking for feedback from my boss. By making complex decisions that my peers find hard to do. My Swot Analysis Demonstrates Dependability- I am a dependable team member who work time effectively and ensures my fair work share done resourcefully. I always follow through my tasks, and reliability is my key. Communicates Constructively- I understand that Teams must have members who speak their mind and communicate their ideas and thoughts plainly, directly, sincerely, and with esteem for others team members. That is why i always ensure I communicate constructively, and does not draw back from sharing ideas; instead I always speak my mind confidently, positively, and respectfully. Listens Keenly- I am a good listener, and i know good listening enables effective communication in team setting. I am also a team player who is able to understand and take into account concepts and opinions from other team members devoid of arguing and debating all points. Sometimes I get nervous around people- Presently, with the introduction of the novel work culture wherein an individual hardly ever meets another team member except when they meet for coffee breaks, it has made me to feel nervous around some of my team member. A Debater- I am an individual who is fervent about work, but to many of my team mates they think I am an antagonist to change: this makes me argue with most of them. Going out of one’s Way- In our organizations a number of people always have the desire to help their team mates to finish their tasks. I always have the heart to help my team members, but sometimes I overstep and go out of one’s way. Lack of some skills- obviously, not every workers has the needed skills to perform a certain task, and most of the time when given hard projects, I ran out of skills to perform effectively. Conclusion Fundamentally, self-managed learning is not about the student learner learning single-handedly or independently, but is about realizing personal needs. Therefore, this is the reason why it is imperative for everybody to enhance their capabilities.
