The Internet In Everyday Life Introduction The global system of connecting computer network is known as internet. It is implemented by the use of internet protocol suite. It connects several devices in all over the world. Internet is an international network which links millions of public, private, business, academic etc networks are connected by a wide array of wireless, electronic and optical technologies of network. Internet has a huge range of information resources in it. In 1960 internet was originated by the government of United State. It was initiated to build a communication system via computers. United Kingdom also contributed on the development of internet. No exact date is particularized when the internet came into being. It is estimated that from early to mid of 1980 internet was well established. From that point of time the network of internet experiences continuous exponential growth with its connection with personal, institutional computer or mobile. The funding of many private organizations and U.S made the commercial backbone strong for the development of networking technologies with the merge of several networks. From the very beginning academic sector is widely using the internet. The commercialization of internet resulted in incorporation and popularization of all the aspects of human life. Presently the use of internet has been so popular that more than 2.4 billion people of the world are experiencing these networking technologies. Research questions and objectives This case study is based on the research question that the use of internet should be restricted or not. The thesis of this research paper is that internet is introduced for all people. It is made available to all. But restricting the internet, it creates barriers in the purpose of introducing it. The objective of this research paper is to focus on the advantage and benefits of the internet. The contribution of the internet in developing the world is also highlighted here. Internet has numerous advantages with some major disadvantages. This research paper aims to establish the fact that restrictions of internet usage will hamper the growth and development of many things which are associated with various aspects of to human life and professions. Literature review According to the authors Samuel J. Best, Andrew Smith, Clark Hubbard, Brian Krueger internet is very popular in data collection as it solves complex questions for making quick administration, flexibility. The authors also state that usage of internet is very cost effective unlike the other conventional methods of survey (Best 131-145). The decision making process of the individual is affected by the internet. As per the author Antje Gimmler internet is an efficient tool in politics. With the facilities provided by the internet the people can openly disclose their views. He highlights that internet helps in the communication process which helps to build civilized society (Gimmler 21-39). He also says that internet plays an important role in the public sphere by influencing different debates and incidents in the society. The author Austan Goolsbee and Jeffrey R. Brown have the opinion that there is a significant importance of internet in reducing the cost (Brown and Goolsbee 481-507). It allows the customers to get involved in comparing the price of the products online. He states that internet the rise in internet usage creates an effect on the price of many products. People shares technologies through internet which help to reduce many costs. According to the author Caroline Haythornthwaite and Barry Wellman internet influences the everyday life of the individuals. It also influences many policies and decisions of the individuals. He throws light on the fact that with the popularity of internet journalism, mass media, online folklore has developed a lot. The quality of cyberspace studies has also improved. He mentioned that internet has helped in the widespread of information. It has become most important issue in everyday’s life. Many gossips and fantasy is associated with the development of communication through internet. He states that internet has a vital role in advancing the society. Different types of social protests are done through internet. It has become the fabric of our lives. It helps to dominate social groups. As per the authors Internet has a huge contribution in the academics. Social structure is built on the networks. The strong networking technology of internet has a vital dimension in merging networks and improving technologies. The global economy is also influenced by internet. Global financial market has a strong dependency on the internet. It is featured with the high speed electronic networks. By the statement of these writers internet handle’s a huge amount of transactional complexities. They have also highlighted that internet is immensely used in the business process for quick and effective work process. The business can get feedback about the use of technologies with the help of internet. According to the authors Rafi Mohammed and Gordon Paddison internet helps in marketing of different products and builds an advantage in the economy of the world. The companies use internet in building their website and popularizing its brands. Internet helps to build strong relationship with the customers. The writers’ focuses on the two primary forces like interaction and customers, which internet brings into the business. Internet creates an impact on the different market levels by influencing these forces. The author Adrian Kapczynski and Ewaryst Tkacz states in their book that in the modern world internet satisfy the needs of the individual in a large extent. Internet has become more complex in the present time. People uses internet in various purpose. The connection of internet is not only limited to computers. It has expanded its service to many other devices. He also states that with the increase of internet usage cyber crimes are also increasing which becomes a disadvantage of this networking technology. Methodology There are two kinds of research methods: primary and secondary. Primary research means collection of original primary data through interviews, questioners, direct observations, experiments etc by the researchers. In this research information comes directly from the source. Secondary research is done on the basis of the information which is previously researched for different purposes. This type of research includes publishing of research papers on the basis of primary data. Qualitative and quantitative methods are used in secondary research. In this research report secondary research is done based on the qualitative measures. A detailed study of internet is done through different websites providing information about the research topic. Data from many books are extracted for getting information on this topic. Various journals are used in this secondary research process. High focus is given on the qualitative information regarding internet and all its aspects. Primary research is not done because the number of targeted audience is huge. Therefore it will be very complex and difficult thing in getting information from the individual. This research report is based on the overall concept. Therefore individual options or opinion from a group of people would not give a proper result. Internet Application Internet is a combination of many networks. It is a networking infrastructure. As long as computers and other device are connected with each other through internet they can communicate easily. This information sharing model helps the world in various ways. The application of internet is very interactive. It has a huge contribution in the business process. The application of internet helps to perform complex process of business in very smooth ways. The application of internet which is server based uses protocols for receiving requests from web browser (Mohammed and Paddison, 85-89). By internet programming web pages can be created where many contents are added. Basic internet applications can code more than one HTML pages and the events of those pages by the process of interaction with the server or he clients. The two major types of internet applications which are visual basic and server basic contributes a lot in the technological development of the human race. With the presence of internet the people can communicate with each other by using electronic mails or by other options available there. It is a huge storage of information which even helps the people in their day to day activities also. Different applications of internet have reshaped the traditional media of communications. The most popular application of internet are JAVA, Flash and JAVA script are very useful. It contributes a lot in the technological development of large number of companies or individuals. In educational purpose or for the students the usage and application of internet is wide spread. It is use for gathering knowledge in for any and every subjects. Professional and business personals also surfs internet for filtering necessary information (Joinson 79). It has become the largest encyclopedia including all categories. It is applied to upgrade many software’s which are used in many documents and project works. It helps the user to download necessary soft ware for various purposes. It makes the process easier and cost effective for everyone. The application of internet makes it effective in providing fun to people. Online movies, dramas, songs, quizzes present in the internet provide user the opportunities to make them free from boredoms. The communication facilities provided by the internet in the modern time helps the people to be n touch with each other in the easiest possible way (Barry and Haythornthwaite 30-35). Disadvantage In internet anyone can post anything which can sometime become very harmful. Lots of cheater sites are present in the internet where people can loss their money. Hackers often create viruses and they can get in to the personal computer and tract or ruin valuable data. Personal information can be easily accessed by people. Information of credit cards can also be stolen which creates financial trouble to people (Tkacz and Kapczynski 67-70). Unsolicited emails which do not have any purpose can damage the entire system. In the present world many illegal activities are done with the help of internet facilities. Undesirable sudden changes of internet program can result in a loss of million dollars within a day. Computer viruses can destroy a huge amount of data within a minute. Many undesirable information or photos are uploaded via internet which creates a bad impact on the society. Piracy of movies and music has become very popular for internet. Internet sometimes influences the modern generation as a drug. Overuse of internet results in the neglecting of many important aspects of life like work, studies etc. Should internet access be restricted The opportunities to share and connect ideas are provided by internet in a low cost. That is why a large bulk of information, images, and videos are post in various internet sites which can be accessed by anyone. It creates a negative impact on children and influencing people to become violent. Therefore age restriction must be present for the usage of internet. It is not good for the children to get exposed to the sex or violence related information. It is better to block some websites which influences frauds. Restricting the availability of internet would not solve the problems or disadvantages of internet. In the modern world internet plays a vital role in growth and development. It should be available for everyone for its immense advantage but have to maintain certain limitations for reducing its disadvantages. The laws related to the usages of internet should be tough and strong for preventing crime and violence. For some of its disadvantages if the usages of internet are blocked then it will create a huge economic and social crisis. Privacy system must be well developed in the internet for protecting information (Fuchs 57). Therefore if these necessary changes are made then internet will not have such major negative impact on the world. Conclusion Internet has contributed a lot in the growth and development of the world in every aspect. It is the combination of many networks. Internet is use in each and every sector. From its very beginning state internet has improved it technology continuously. The world is now largely dependent on internet for its advantages. It has a strong impact on personal, social and professional life of a person. A huge number of businesses are totally dependent on internet. With its several advantages internet also have some major disadvantages which has serious negative effects. But restricting the availability of internet will not help. Strict rules, regulations and laws must be implemented for reducing its negative effects and accessing all tits advantages.
