Running Head: TUNISIAS REVOLUTION Inserts His/Her Inserts Grade Inserts 28th March, Bibliography Tunisia has been the initiator of the Revolution 2011, commonly known as Arab Spring. For many decades, this region projected the image of a prosperous and progressing country. However, the revolution of 2011 overthrew the autocratic leadership of Tunisia, and exposed the region to various social, political, and economic transitions. This bibliography examines various reports, commentaries, books, and writings that elaborate upon the Tunisian Revolution and the ultimate Arab Spring of 2011. The sources illustrating the revolution are given below: Goldstone Jack A., Understanding the Revolutions of 2011. 2011. The New York Times. New York. Web. 28 March 2012. The article is published on the Opinion Page of the newspaper, and it discusses the background of the revolutions that happened in the year 2011. It highlights the reasons, background and fundamentals for the uprisings of the Middle East and quickly reviews the upheavals that initiated from Tunisia and Egypt. In this aspect, it also discusses the ruling governments, military and civilians of the countries under revolution in 2011. It provides a good source of information for my current research. This is because, in order to understand the way in which this uprising spread from Tunisia, it is mandatory to know the reasons behind the whole scenario. The article, The Revolution will be Tweeted, discusses the influence and contribution of social media as one of the major participants in the spread of the havoc in the entire Middle East. Not only for Tunisia, but the Twitter had assembled more than 6 million tweets of the seven other Arab countries that underwent the revolution. Thus, the significance of Twitter, in particular, has been discussed in relation with the Middle Ease revolution. In order to support my research questions, this article provides us with the basic knot which resulted into the spread of the awakening form Tunisia to all other Arab countries. It proves social media as a major contributor in doing so. For us, t is essential to understand the dominance of technology in the world’s political and social matters these days. The major impact was posed by blogs, twitter, facebook and other massive databases and social media platforms on internet. After reading this whole article, one can have a better understanding of the reason for the spread of Revolution 2011 from Tunisia. It is important for us to know that this revolution was spurred by the social media networks.
