The father keeps a non-Muslim girlfriend which is against the Islam teaching. He also brings in a dancer contrary to religious expectations. However, his perspective concerning his religion changes especially when he sees a large number of Muslims who turn up for the religious event.
The father practices his religion by observing all the pillars of Islam. According to the film, he prays five times a day and has shown meekness as required by the religion by traveling by road for many kilometers. In addition, he travels to Mecca as one of the main pillars of his religion.

The journey to Mecca has made Reda involved. In this case, the first aspect of evolution is evident when he is overwhelmed by the multitude of Islam faithful who turn up for the pilgrim event. Furthermore, Reda starts talking to the father quite often in their native language; French.
Reda goes back home a changed person as far as the Islamic religion is concerned. According to the film, Rada learns more about religion and comes to understand why the father preferred a car to a plane.

The main challenge of maintaining a Muslim identity in western culture is the influence of current trends. In this case, young people are fascinated by clothing, ornaments, and other trendy stuff ion expense of the religion. In the film, Reda keeps a non-Muslim girlfriend and sometimes takes alcohol. In addition, he is clad in jeans instead of normal Muslim religious wear.

Film#2 Wadjda
The film presents Saudi Arabia as a nation that has refused to move on with the rest of the world. The film has presented a situation where religious matters surpass human consciousness and feelings. In this case, society has refused to uphold basic human freedoms in the name of protecting religion.

The film has reflected the position of women being inferior when compared to that men. According to the film, women are just there to be used by men for their convenience. In addition, the film has uncovered a situation where the woman has accepted her inferior position, this is seen when some women are surprised that Wadjda is acting in a manner that humiliates men.

The theme of gender segregation has played a pivotal role in this film. According to the film, the place of a woman is in the kitchen or any other place in the service of men. Accordingly, a woman cannot make an informed decision without referring to the man. In this film, human rights, privileges, and freedoms do not apply to women.
According to the film, the main reason for having a family is to enhance the propagation of life. the family of Wadjida lacks a son and hence the community is pressurizing Wadjada’s father to take a second wife to get a son for the heir. This demonstrates the extent to which people go to devalue woman's dignity. This incident explains how families in Saudi attach a better value to the son as compared to the daughters.

Wadjada questions her mother’s religion. From the very beginning, the mother forbids Wadjada by arguing that riding a bicycle will make her lose her virginity. In addition, she fails to understand why the father should marry a second wife in the name of siring a son to be the heir. In this case, Wadjada tries to evacuate herself from the family's orders to work on her own decisions. The issue of the family tree brings discord when Wadjadi’s name is plucked out. This indicates that girls are not a permanent part of the home.
In the school, most of the teaching offered to girls is centered on making them better wives. In addition, lessons are dominated by religious teachings. Girls are not allowed to walk along streets when they are not accompanied by family members. In addition, a girl is not supposed to expose her face to anyone except family members and probably a suit. In this case, exposing the hair increases the judgment and punishment extended by Allah.
