ENGLISH The Characteristics of ESFP Introduction The paper will examine the characteristics of extravert, sensing, feeling and perceiving all denoted as ESFP. Extravert ensures that the decisions made are at an interest of human beings and are auxiliary to sensing. Sensing deals with the perception of senses by examining tangibleness through touch, taste, sight or hearing. Feeling involves perception that is more implied than expressed verbally and ensures pranks and jokes do not hurt the victim. The perception which is the fourth is suitable in pattern deducing and connections which are only visible after the facts are carefully checked. There is therefore the need to understand the four elements that constitutes ESFP. (Kendra, 2009) Extraversion is the state or act of being more concerned with what is outside than self so as to attain gratification which is characterized by more talkativeness and energetic behavior. Extravert is more interested in interactions with other people to express their character of talkativeness, assertiveness, happiness and companion. As an extravert one is often happy around other people and energized in activities that comprise of large gathering of people, either in parties, activities of a community, groups involved in politics and demonstrations and you feel very comfortable at that. (Kendra, 2009). Being extroverted means that one enjoys when he/she spends more of their time with other people as opposed to spending less time alone.Usually, one is likely to be bored when he or she is alone. One is more sociable and experiences more positive emotions such as happiness and comfort with others. This makes the extrovert to be termed as a trait of a person apart from the normal self-esteem and optimism. For example, the president of the USA, Mr. Obama can be considered as an extrovert. This is because he is more sociable, talkative, listener and likes public gatherings. His political speeches and moves reveal that he is a man who delights in comfort and happiness with others. His famous slogan “Yes we can” is an evidence that he likes working and going with groups in the state projects. Sensing deals with the perception of senses by examining tangible through touch, taste, sight or hearing. Sensing ensures that the data obtained is in a concrete and literal fashion and the information is collected on the basis of senses that are practical and concrete rather than intuitions. It is more realistic as it involves sensing of exactly what is perceived thus for one to be sensible he or she need to be effective to things that he or she comes into contact with through touch, hearing, taste, sight or by feel. (Kendra, 2009). Sensing pays attention to the physical world such as experiences which leads to impulsive action as it Sensing can be portrayed through food tasting, noticing when a spotlight has changed, speech memorization or following steps in a procedure. For example, when the clothes of the baby of my sister who is ten months is taken away she often senses that it is time to take a bath. This makes her to run away in shyness. In addition my puppy will always rush when I whistle during supper with an expectation to be given food. Feelings involve making a wise and a best decision. One has to weigh what people care about and the situations what people are involved at so as to make the decision and they are often motivated by their values. Feeling is characterized by care, warmth, tactful and doing whatever is necessary to enhance peace. Ordinarily, people with feelings are oriented to communication with others to enhance harmony. They express compassion and they prefer making decisions with their heart. They are also characterized by others as being mushy, idealistic or indirect because they make decisions based on the guidelines or the procedures outlined. (Kendra, 2009). Personally, feelings make me to arrive at decision that involves a case of an individual in a way that is subjective basing my decision not on the guidelines that are impersonal but in what I believe is correct and good to do as per my system values. Examples of expressing feelings are; buying something not because you are forced to buy it but because you like it, deciding not to tell someone about something simply because I feel it may upset him or her, moving somewhere because I want to be close with that person cause me from care about him or her, denying a job simply because you do not like the working environment. (Myers & Isabel, 1985) For example, when I had a girlfriend whom I really loved from the depth of my soul, and she also did the same to me. However, our parents were not satisfied with the relationship at all. Therefore we decided to elope even though we were fifteen and sixteen her and I respectively. We decided that we will never leave each other no matter what happens. We put on rings as a sign of love and remembrance. However, after four years of happy lovely life, things turned sour and we broke up on her birthday party. I was affected significantly by feelings that made me not to eat and talk properly. Perceiving involves doing things in a flexible and spontaneous manner. As a perceiver, I like things that are open-ended, and this involves postponing of some decisions so as to give room for any other options that can be available and better. Rather than having a plan on what to do, I prefer to decide it as I do it. This can be applied especially when we have fire breaks in builds we rescue those inside the building immediately as we call for firefighters rather than seating and planning how to rescue them. As a perceiver, I will also act impulsively and act at last minute. Examples highlighting perceiving is last time rush to work, looking for other options by postponing decisions, doing something as deciding what to do rather than planning ahead and acting spontaneously. (Myers & Isabel, 1985). For example, my love for love for ford cars is so strong that I always perceive the cars to be durable without necessarily having them. When I see a picture of the ford vehicle, I always perceive it as the best as compared to Toyota vehicles. In conclusion, the above four personalities result in dynamic interaction with the environment and experience their life to the fullest. ESFP enhance comforts from people and also group work and find tactical methods to help in the context of human needs. These ensure that one learns more by doing rather than reading, and people rush to things and learn more through their interactions with the environment. The ESFP ensure satisfaction through fun and interactions and are more concerned with harmony to all. They are elastic, adjustable, friendly and lenient. Work cited Kendra. (2009).
